A Collection of Family Traditions Describing – Customs, Practices and Beliefs of the Families and Lands of Kaloko and Honokohau, North Kona, Island of Hawai‘i

This study includes oral history interviews with ten individuals interviewed between 1996 and 2001. This study also includes excerpts from several interviews with native residents of the Kaloko-Honokohau area, that were conducted in 1962; and translations of three articles (published in Hawaiian language newspapers), including two accounts describing nineteenth century Kaloko-Honokohau, and neighboring lands, written by native historian, J.W.H.I. Kihe, who was born in 1854 at Honokohau.
