Equipment Used
augercore
Purpose
Determine distribution and thickness of fine wood waste (wood pulp) from
abandoned pulp mill that has accumulated in the nearshore and now has created
anoxic conditions.
Information to be Derived
Lateral and vertical distribution of buried fine wood waste and overlying
sediment, foraminifer community structural variations associated with
concentrated wood waste and anoxia.
Summary
Thirty two cores ranging 0.5 to 2.0 m in length between approximately -0.5 to
2.0 m above mean lower low water in Thatcher Bay.
Got Help?
