Reading Room video surveillance cameras are monitored and videotapes are made in locations throughout the Library.

For the security of our staff, visitors, and researchers, as well as the security of our collections, activity in Library of Congress reading rooms and other public areas is covered by video cameras. Cameras are monitored from stations within the reading rooms and from offices behind the scenes. The activity captured on the cameras is also recorded and archived.
