Jordan is an Arab kingdom near the eastern end of the Mediterranean
Sea. It is little larger than Indiana. About 90 per cent of Jordan's
people are Muslims, and about all the rest are Christians. It
is a constitutional monarchy. In 1928, Britain recognized the
Trans Jordan mandate as an independent state. Jordan gained complete
independence in 1946.
