Epidemic Intelligence Service - Epidemiology Program Office

Eligibility

To apply for EIS, you must

  • meet the professional degree and licensing requirements below,
  • be willing to commit to a 2-year full-time program, and
  • be willing to relocate.

 

U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents

  • MD or DO with at least one year of clinical training and an active, unrestricted, U.S. license.
  • PhD, DrPH, or equivalent in
    • epidemiology,
    • biostatistics,
    • the biological, environmental, social, behavioral, nutritional sciences, or
    • other relevant science.
  • Health professionals (dentists, physician assistants, and nurses) with a master of public health (MPH) or equivalent degree and an active, unrestricted U.S. license to practice their specialty.
  • Veterinarians with an MPH or equivalent degree or relevant public health experience and an active, unrestricted U.S. license to practice their specialty. �

 

Non-U.S. Citizens

Non-U.S. citizens meeting the criteria are eligible to apply. However, due to the domestic nature of the program only a limited number are selected.

  • MD, DO, or equivalent with at least one year of clinical training.
  • PhD, DrPH, or equivalent in
    • epidemiology,
    • biostatistics,
    • the biological, environmental, social, behavioral, nutritional sciences, or
    • other relevant science.
  • Health professionals (dentists, physician assistants, and nurses) with a master of public health (MPH) or equivalent degree.
  • Veterinarians with an MPH or equivalent degree or relevant public health experience. �
