Mines, Mining, and Mineral Resources

Tracer Bullet 94-2

SCOPE

This guide reviews the literature on mines, mining, and mineral resources in the collections of the Library of Congress. As this guide includes only non- fuel minerals, materials on coal, uranium, and petroleum are omitted. Neither does this guide emphasize metallurgy, the actual science and technology of metals and alloys, nor gemstones, such as diamonds, emeralds, and rubies. Not intended as a comprehensive bibliography, this guide is designed--as the name of the series implies--to put the reader "on target."
