The Web Plus Development Priority List is a list of development tasks prioritized by the NPCR Registry Plus development team. Each task is the direct result of meetings with the Registry Plus User Group (RPUG) as well as requests from individual cancer registries and leaders in the cancer registry field. For more information on Registry Plus or RPUG, please contact cancerinfo@cdc.gov.

Web Plus Development Priority List (updated February 22, 2008)
    Completed Tasks
Added functionality to keep password history to improve security (in version 2.0, currently alpha testing)
Added support for display type-specific lookups (in version 2.0, currently in alpha testing)
Added functionality to show a system message on the login page (in version 2.0, currently in alpha testing)
Refactored code to move data access code to a separate DLL to simplify support for other databases (currently in alpha testing)
Added the ability to upload any file format
Updated the Facility Abstractor Training Manual
Updated the Central Administrator Training Manual
Received a usability review of central abstractor and reviewer functions
Added support for multiple display types for facilities (currently in alpha testing)
    Provided online abstracting
    Enhanced file upload capability
Enabled users to log in without selecting a facility
Helped states participating in the Prostate Project implement Web Plus
Added the ability to include text fields in display types, and show them—along with other data items—in the same data entry area for facility abstractors, while retaining the ability to show all text fields in a group of sub-tabs to the right of data entry area for central registry abstractors
Developed an administrative tool to run edits on uploaded files in batch offline mode
In Web Plus Administrative Tool, included functionality to export abstracts and upload files to a network drive
Added a placeholder for state's logo on the login page
In Web Plus Administrative Tool, included functionality to run batch edits on files of multiple NAACCR versions
Added a feature to specify critical fields for a display type
Added the ability to assign an abstractor to multiple facilities
Perfomed a usability review of facility abstractor functions
Incorporated usability suggestions for facility abstractor functions
Converted to support NAACCR version 11
Added state-specific contact information to the headers of facility abstractors' pages
Added groups of tabbed text boxes to the data entry page in the online abstracting module
Added a comment box to the file upload function
Added the ability to upload prior NAACCR version bundles
    Remaining Task Priority Percentage
    Completed
Physician Death Certificate Follow-back: Include a function in Web Plus to upload partial abstracts from death certificate files and notify physicians to update the abstracts. Records for follow-back must be prepared outside Web Plus, and should be in the NAACCR layout for import into the Web Plus database. When posted for physicians to complete, abstracts will be processed via the regular Web Plus record flow; in other words, completed abstracts are released to the central registry for review. Currently, Web Plus allows for minimal tracking of follow-back efforts.

This module has been programmed and is currently in alpha testing.

Note: The need to develop modules to support death clearance activities has been identified; functions would support both electronic and paper-based efforts and would include selecting records for death certificate follow-back, preparing communications for follow-back requests, and maintaining a database to track all follow-back efforts. Specifications for these modules are being developed, and functions to be included are currently beyond the scope of Web Plus.

Physician Pathology Laboratory Follow-back: Include a function in Web Plus to upload partial abstracts from pathology reports and notify physicians to update the abstracts.

Note: Pathology reports in HL7 format must be converted to NAACCR format before being uploaded to the Web Plus database. Currently, this conversion must be done outside Web Plus.
