  • System Requirements

Registry Plus programs are written for the Microsoft® Windows® 32-bit environment installed on an Intel® Pentium® or Pentium-compatible computer. The minimum hardware requirements are the same as those of the Microsoft Windows operating system used. Additional system requirements include:

    • Microsoft operating system from Windows 98 through Windows XP
    • 128 MB RAM (512 MB recommended)
    • Latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (recommended)
    • The available hard-disk space requirement for Abstract Plus depends on the number of abstracts that will be used. A minimum of 70 MB of free hard drive space is required.

    Installing and Upgrading Abstract Plus

Before you install or upgrade Abstract Plus, please read the following information.

    • This version of Abstract Plus was designed to upgrade older database versions automatically while preserving configuration settings.

    • If someone else is responsible for maintenance of your computer, you may not be able to install software. In this case, consult the maintainer of your computer for assistance. If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you must be logged on as the administrator.

    • If you are upgrading or reinstalling an existing version of Abstract Plus, uninstall the existing Abstract Plus program.

From the Windows Control Panel, choose Add/Remove Programs.
      Select Abstract Plus.
      Click the Change/Remove button.
Click Next; then Remove; then Next in succession on the resulting dialog boxes, and respond to any further prompts that appear.
If you receive a message during the uninstall process about deleting shared files, choose not to delete any shared files.

    • The files and folder structure are preserved after you uninstall the previous version of Abstract Plus. Install this version in the same folder as your previous version of Abstract Plus to ensure the database and configuration settings are upgraded properly.

    • To ensure the new version of Abstract Plus is installed in the same folder as the previous version, open Windows Explorer and locate the folder in which Abstract Plus is currently installed.

    • If you are installing Abstract Plus for the first time, you may install it on the drive and folder of your choosing; however, you cannot install it in a subfolder. Abstract Plus must be installed in a root folder from the drive of your choosing.

    Installation

    1. Download Abstract Plus to your computer.

    2. The installation program will direct you through the steps for installing Abstract Plus. If you are a first-time user, we recommend you select the defaults.

    3. When installed, click the Windows Start button and select Programs; then Abstract Plus; then AbsPlus.

Note: Passwords are 'GUEST' for application logon and 'ADMIN' for administrative modules.
