A thriving Chinese community existed at the turn of the 20th century, beneath what is now Busch Stadium. Huping Ling, from Truman State University, will talk about the myths and realities of this St. Louis Chinatown. Lecture presented at the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site.

Chesterfield

This educational program is one of the few chances to visit the Faust Historic Village for free without an appointment.

Faust Historic Village is a collections of building moved to Faust Park in Chesterfield from around the Chesterfield and St. Louis area to save from demolition. The house were build between 1840 and 1890 and are opened to the public and will be staffed by trained docents that will tell the history of the house. Many weekends a blacksmith is working in the blacksmith shop.

Three days of music from some of the country's best bluegrass bands. This event will take place at the Capitol Plaza Hotel.

Admission: Friday and Saturday, $20 for both shows each day; $15 night show only; Sunday, $7; All Event pass, $35; Children younger than 13, half price. Group pricing available.

Hermann

A lecture celebrating the German and Hermann resistance to the institution of slavery in the Hermann community.

In the lobby, throughout February, this resistance to slavery is illistrated with quotes from the articles and editorials of Eduard Muehl, editor of the Licht-Freund (Friend of Light), Hermann's first newspaper, and from the Hermanner Wochenblatt (Hermann Weekly Paper). Refreshments served. At Deutschheim State Historic Site.
