Dr. Christine Fair will discuss her recent trip to Pakistan where she met with madrassah leadership to learn more about Islamic education in Pakistan.

During this visit, she interviewed administrators of Pakistan's most important madaris in all provinces of Pakistan. Administrators shared their vision of excellence in Islamic education as well as their view about the government of Pakistan's efforts to reform the curricula of madaris. Administrators also described what they see as the most important issues confronting Islamic education in Pakistan. Dr. Fair will share what she learned from these varied meetings. An open discussion will follow her brief discussion of her field findings.
