General Resources : Moldova

Created and maintained by the
 European Division
Collections and Services Directorate

This annotated portal describes more than 250 selected Web sites which provide information on Moldova. In general, the names of Web sites originating in Moldova have been given in whichever language is predominant for the site, whether Romanian, Russian, or Gagauz, with an English translation in the accompanying annotation. Romanian and Gagauz diacritical marks have not been used. Russian, which uses the Cyrillic alphabet, has been transliterated into Latin letters using the Library of Congress transliteration system.

It is a common practice for many Web sites created in non-English speaking countries to provide an interface not only in the national language(s) but also in English in order to reach an international audience. Keep in mind that such bilingual (or multilingual) sites are often most complete in the national language.
