Welcome to Old Hickory Lake
The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomes you to Old Hickory Lake.

Located near Metropolitan Nashville, Tennessee, the lake provides a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for millions of visitors each year. Because of the temperate climate and relatively long recreation season, visitors have numerous activities to choose from including hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, picnicking, boating, and water skiing. The numerous species of wildlife here, including abundant populations of waterfowl and wading birds, make nature study and photography additional exciting pastimes.
Old Hickory Lake belongs to you. Treat your lake and the surrounding public lands with respect by keeping them clean. Everyone can enjoy Old Hickory Lake if he or she uses common sense and follows safety guidelines. Safety while swimming, wading, and boating is the responsibility of the individual. There are no lifeguards on duty at any time at Corps recreation areas. Visitors must be aware of underwater hazards such as submerged stumps, logs, and rocks. Drop-offs may exist near the shore. Be especially careful near the shoreline, since depth of water may vary from time to time and place to place. Children should be closely supervised and wear life jackets while they are playing in or near the water. Enjoy yourself and have a safe visit.
