CFDA Number:

This is a Modification to the State Abstinence Education Grant Program (AEGP) for FY 2009 through FY 2013 Program Announcement, HHS-2008-ACF-ACYF-AEGP-0125, published to the ACF Grant Opportunities webpage on 7/18/2008. The application procedures are hereby modified.

Summary:

The State Abstinence Education Grant Program was extended through June 30, 2009, under P.L. 110-275—Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008. This program announcement instructs States in how to apply for funding for FY 2009 through 2013; awards are contingent upon congressional reauthorization or the continued extension of the authorization and funding of the program.

Modification to the published announcement:

Please delete the following under Section III Eligibility Information, B. Cost Sharing or Matching.

For example, if a State’s award is for $100,000, the State must provide a match of $43,000, which may be State dollars, local government dollars, private dollars, such as foundation dollars, or in-kind support.

Please replace the deleted language under Section III Eligibility Information, B. Cost Sharing or Matching

For example, if a state’s federal award is $100,000, the State must provide a match of $75,000, which would represent 43% of the total project cost of $175,000 (counting both federal grant and state match). The match can be reached by use of state dollars, local government dollars, private dollars including foundation dollars, in-kind support, or any combination thereof.

All information in this modification is accurate and replaces information specified in the 7/18/2008 Program Announcement.
