Summary: This document presents New Mexico’s quality rating system for child care programs. A chart illustrates criteria for a 2-Star, 3-Star, 4-Star, and 5-Star level of quality. To receive a 1-Star rating, programs must meet all child care licensing regulations. Criteria are described for Staff Qualifications, Evaluation, and Communication; Environment; Curriculum and Assessment of Children Progress; Professional Development Plan; Family Involvement Plan; Administrative Policies; Employee Compensation and Benefits; Ratios and Group Size; and Accreditation.
