Directory of Open Access Repositories

Access: Publicly available resource

Description: OpenDOAR provides descriptions and access to hundreds of institutional and subject-based repositories. Repositories are categorised by their policies regarding peer-reviewed/non-peer-reviewed material, their subject coverage, the constituency they draw on for content, the envisaged constituencies they serve, their collection and preservation policies, etc.

OpenDOAR is a joint collaboration between the University of Nottingham in the UK and Lund University in Sweden. Also try Open Access Bibliography , which provides an overview of open access concepts, and links to over 1,300 selected English-language books, conference papers (including some digital video presentations), debates, editorials, e-prints, journal and magazine articles, news articles, technical reports, and other printed and electronic sources that are useful in understanding the open access movement's efforts to provide free access to and unfettered use of scholarly literature.
