Summary of Changes between the 2005 and 2008 Versions of the SACWIS Assessment Review Guide (SARGe)

Changes to the SARGe between the 2005 and 2008 versions included some minor editorial and formatting changes, the substantive changes are listed below. Please contact your Federal analyst if you have additional questions regarding the 2008 SARGe.

  • Section 3.2: State Completion of the Guide
    • In the section on Summary Table definitions, there was a clarification to the definition of the "Action Plan?" check box. (page 3-4)
  • Appendix C: New Initiatives
    • Replaced introduction paragraph from 2005 version of the SARGe with a new introduction paragraph. (page C-1)
    • In subsection "Adoption and Safe Families Act (ASFA)," question #3 from the 2005 version of the SARGe was deleted. (page C-1)
    • In subsection "Foster Care Independence Act of 1999 – Chaffee Foster Care Independence Program (CFCIP)," questions #17 and #18 from the 2005 version of the SARGe were deleted and replaced with new question #16. (page C-4)
    • Added new subsection "Safe and Timely Interstate Placement of Foster Children Act of 2006" and question #17. (page C-4)
    • Added new subsection "Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006" and question #18. (page C-4 and C-5)
    • Added new subsection "Child and Family Service Improvement Act of 2006" and question #19. (page C-5)
    • Added new subsection "Private Providers" and question #20. (page C-5)
    • Added new subsection "Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) of 2005" and question #21. (page C-5)
