Hazardous Waste - Wastes commonly generated in hospitals that are hazardous wastes include:
- Sterilants and disinfectants such as ethylene oxide and glutaraldehyde,
- Mercury,
- Chemotherapy and antineoplastic chemicals,
- photographic chemicals,
- Pharmaceutical wastes which are U-listed wastes such as warfarin, formaldehyde, phenol, chloroform, and saccharin,
- Epinephrine, and
- scavenging unit charcoal filters.
