Third Annual Kissinger Lecture: Shultz was secretary of state under President Ronald Reagan for eight years. He is currently a Thomas W. and Susan B. Ford Distinguished Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.
Speaker Biography: George Shultz served as U.S. Secretary of State from 1982 to 1989 and earlier served as Secretary of Labor, Director of the Office of Management and Budget and Secretary of the Treasury. Previously, he served as Dean of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago and as President of Bechtel Group, Inc. In 1989, Shultz was awarded the Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor.
