Research Permits

STRI requires all individuals conducting research under STRI's auspices to adhere to the laws and regulations pertaining to the legal collection, import and export of scientific specimens. Respect for and knowledge of the laws of the Republic of Panama, international conventions (e.g., CITES), and the laws of the country to and from where scientific specimens are being exported is expected of all STRI investigators.

The approval of your project does not imply that the Panamanian government will grant the research/collecting/export permits. STRI acts as a liaison between the applicant and the government entities.
