Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP)

Go to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) web site to learn more about this new Federal employee benefit: http://www.opm.gov/insure/index.aspx. You may view and print FEDVIP plan brochures from this web site. There are 4 national dental providers, 3 regional dental providers, and 3 national vision providers.

FEDVIP is available to:

  • Federal employees who are eligible for Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) coverage, whether or not they are enrolled in FEHB.
  • Federal annuitants (retirees).

Eligible employees and annuitants may choose to enroll in either a dental or a vision plan, or both.

Enrollment is offered for self-only, self plus one, or self and family coverage, with corresponding premiums.

Premiums for FEDVIP:

  • Are paid entirely by the enrollee; there is no government contribution.
  • Are withheld from salary on a pre-tax basis, lowering taxable income (employees only).

There are no enrollment limitations based on pre-existing conditions.

Be sure to review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on OPM's Dental Vision website!

If you choose to enroll in a dental and/or vision program, your FEDVIP enrollment must be processed through the secure portal, at https://www.benefeds.com/. If you do not have access to a computer, you may enroll by calling 1-877-888-FEDS (1-877-888-3337), TTY number 1-877-889-5680.

FEDVIP enrollments are NOT processed through the NFC Employee Personal Page. There is no enrollment form.
