Wildlife management efforts of the Corps of Engineers at Pomona Lake focuses on the reestablishment of the native ecosystem which includes habitat improvement, and the enhancement of wildlife food supplies most of the 6,500 acres of project lands are dedicated to wildlife habitat.

Numerous native grass plantings now surround many of the project lands and some campgrounds. Burning regiments are used to manage the new grass plantings reducing the need for mowing.Efforts with local sportsman clubs and members of the lake staff have produced habitat structure for the fish population at Pomona Lake. Every year trees are sunk in the lake as habitat for the fish populations. (pictured below)

Agricultural leases are required to leave 5% of their standing crop for wildlife forage. Along with the standing crop there are several food plots around the lake which are intended for wildlife use.
