On October 21, 22, and 23, 2008, many of the foremost researchers in occupational injury convened in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel to present their latest findings and methods at the fourth National Occupational Injury Research Symposium (NOIRS).
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) hosted NOIRS 2008 to provide a forum for researchers to share their work with others.

The symposium consisted of contributed oral presentations in concurrent sessions and poster presentations. The presentations described research studies, methods, and findings related to traumatic occupational injuries.

NOIRS 2008 was the fourth such symposium focusing on research for the prevention of work-related traumatic injuries.
