IMLS Seeks Associate Deputy Director in the Office of Library Services

WASHINGTON, DC--The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is recruiting qualified applicants for the Associate Deputy Director position in the Office of Library Services at the GS 14/15 level. IMLS is the primary source of federal funding for the nation’s libraries and museums.

The Associate Deputy Director provides national professional leadership for the agency’s largest program: the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grants to States, which helps the nation’s libraries serve their communities. The incumbent reports to the IMLS Deputy for Libraries, and is the senior manager responsible for implementation and oversight of the Library State Grant Programs (currently funded at over $160 million).

The incumbent also provides expert guidance and leadership in the area of regulations and compliance resolution; supervises professional and support staff; serves as a key member of the IMLS management team for establishing plans, setting goals, participating in program implementation, and development of new initiatives.
