WINDSOR, Conn. -- The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in New Haven at Gateway Community College's Long Wharf Campus, 60 Sergeant Drive, will close at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 7.

Closing this facility does not mean the Federal Emergency Management Agency is ending DRC activities statewide. Anyone wanting to speak to a disaster program specialist in person may continue to do so at any of the DRCs listed below.

Individuals and businesses with losses caused by the storms and flooding in mid-April have until August 13 to register for federal and state disaster assistance. Disaster aid is available for renters, homeowners and business owners in Litchfield, Hartford, Windham, New London, Middlesex, New Haven and Fairfield counties.

Affected individuals should first apply to FEMA by telephone or online at www.fema.gov. The toll-free phone number for applications is 800-621-FEMA (1-800-621-3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for those with speech or hearing impairments.
