Grapevine Lake Biking Trails

The Corps of Engineers manages two mountain biking trails at Grapevine Lake: The Northshore Trail and the Knob Hills Trail.

The Northshore Trail is an out and back singletrack trail, approximately 9 miles long. Trailheads are at Rockledge Park, Murrell Park, and at the entrance to Twin Coves Campground. Trail portions range in difficulty from easy to difficult. Water is available at the Murrell Park and Rockledge Park trailheads; restrooms are available at the Rockledge Trailhead. The Northshore Trail is a nationally registered trail.

The Knob Hills Trail is located on the west side of Grapevine Lake.

Northshore Trail

Length: Approximately 9 miles

Users: Hiking and biking

Description: This single track natural surface trail has trailheads in Rockledge, Murrell, and Twin Coves Parks. Various wildlife such as rabbits, foxes and waterfowl may be seen from the trail as it winds along the lake shore. The eastern half is less technical than the western, and is better suited to novice riders. Drinking water is available at all trailheads, with restrooms located at Rockledge and Murrell only. Particularly in the area of Twin Coves, the trail is very rocky and has a varied terrain. For easiest access, especially on weekends, trail users are advised to access the trail in Murrell Park. There is no cost to access the trail at any of the trailheads.
