Reading down, the column displays the lowest grade offered in a school. Reading across, the row displays the highest grade offered. The table shows the number of students in schools in each combination of lowest and highest grades offered. For example, there were 5,956,736 students in schools that began with prekindergarten and ended in grade 5. Note that "ungraded" is shown as the lowest or highest grade in only the 35 schools that are completely ungraded. |
