Biography:
Ken Burns is the award-winning director, producer, and co-writer of more than 10 critically acclaimed historical documentaries. His films include "Brooklyn Bridge," "Baseball," "Jazz," and "The Civil War." He is co-author, with Geoffrey Ward, of "War - An Intimate History, 1941-45" (Knopf, 2007). Burns will appear in the History & Biography Pavilion.

The 2007 National Book Festival, organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between 7th and 14th streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public.
