Technical Assistance for a Community Healthy Marriage Initiative (CHMI)
  Question
Is there assistance available for starting a healthy marriage initiative (CHMI)? How can I get help for my community healthy marriage project?
  Answer
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is working with its partners across the country to develop community-wide initiatives to promote healthy marriages and strengthen families. These initiatives will bring together government agencies, faith-based and community organizations, and other partners to offer the knowledge, skills and resources needed to build and sustain healthy marriages. If you are interested in starting a healthy marriage initiative, or if you have an initiative already forming, ACF can provide technical assistance support for your efforts. Technical assistance may be available to help you build your coalition, plan your programs and services, form effective partnerships, and identify sources of funding. Please read the File Attachments below. You can open the documents by clicking on any of the items listed in the file attachment section. To request technical assistance:
1. Click on the Ask a Question tab (above).
2. Complete the email information and include location and phone number.
3. If you currently offer marriage education services please describe them and the community partners (if any) that you work with to deliver the services. Also describe how you propose to expand your current services. If you are not currently providing marriage education services, please read the attachments and describe what kinds of services and programs you would like to begin.
4. Select the Submit Question button.
Any information you provide will be completely voluntary. ACF will follow up with you to learn more about your efforts. You may want to visit the ACF Children's Bureau web site for information on a new funding opportunity. The announcement is located at: http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/funding/cb2003/index.htm. Thank you for your interest in this program!
