Camping at Benbrook Lake

Benbrook Lake offers camping in several different park areas. Camping is permitted only at sites in the designated park campgrounds, and is not allowed in any other areas. Campsites with utility hookups are available in Holiday Park and the Bear Creek Campground of Mustang Park. Table sites without utilities are found in the Mustang Point Campground of Mustang Park and Rocky Creek Park. Mustang Point also allows primitive camping away from the designated table sites. Westcreek Cicrle offers primitive camping in a limited-development setting.

Each individual campsite is restricted to no more than eight persons and 1 RV (motorhome, travel trailer, pop-up camper, etc.). Number of tents is not limited, provided they stay within the limits of the campsite. Vehicles parked at a campsite should not exceed the physical limitations of the site. Overflow parking areas are provided in each park for extra vehicles.

Tents

Pitch your tent on an impact area or directly on the ground. Please do not dig trenches in the ground or place pegs into blacktop or paved surfaces.

Lanterns

Hanging gas or propane lanterns on trees can kill or seriously damage them. Help us preserve the natural beauty of our parks by hanging lanterns on posts built for that purpose or in another safe place away from the trees.

Night Entry/Exit of Parks

Campgrounds have controlled entrance gates that are closed to incoming traffic between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. If you return to the park after 10 p.m., please park you car at the gate and walk in, of have someone inside the park shuttle you to your campsite. Entering through the one-way exit gates may be cause for a citation.

Length of Stay

The maximum stay at one or all of the parks at any one lake is fourteen days in any thirty-day period. Extensions may be available with permission of the Lake Manager in certain circumstances.

Check-Out Time

The check-out time for campers is 2 p.m. After that time, campers should either have left the park, or paid the fee for the next night.
