Volunteering

Photo of volunteers

The Corps of Engineers encourages community involvement in preserving our natural resources. You can volunteer to perform work as an individual or as a group. There are many areas related to natural resource management where volunteers can make a beneficial contribution of time to the environment and the Corps of Engineers.

The jobs can be short or long term oriented. The park manager will review your interests and skills and try to match you with a job that fits your schedule. Our Ranger staff will assist you in planning and implementing your project.

Volunteers are also needed to assist park attendants in one of our eight campgrounds. Volunteer park attendants provide relief for the full time attendant during their off hours. Volunteers work approximately 20 hours per week in exchange for free camping with full hookups (water and electric).
