Summary: This brochure describes the Scholars for Excellence in Child Care (SECC) program in Oklahoma. The SECC program ensures that child care employees in Oklahoma have the opportunity to attend an Oklahoma community college to further their education in early childhood by providing financial assistance through scholarships. The goals of the SECC program include: (1) increase the quality of child care, (2) reduce staff turnover, and (3) increase teacher compensation. The successes of the program and improvements made in child care are described.
