NIMS Guide
What is a NIMS Guide?
A NIMS Guide is a new document developed by the National Integration Center (NIC) Incident Management Systems Division and should be regarded as guidance or clarification; dealing specifically with the way NIMS doctrine or policy is defined or interpreted within a section of the NIMS. The NIMS Guides provide material used to augment and update specific detail elements related to the NIMS Document.

This template was developed for use by federal departments and agencies to help ensure that they incorporate the NIMS into their emergency response plans, procedures and policies. However, states as well as local and tribal entities may find this NIMS Implementation Plan Template useful in guiding their own NIMS implementation process.

This executive order directs the development of a program to integrate the National Incident Management System into the state's emergency management system and the identification of statutes or regulations for elimination or modification to facilitate NIMS implementation. The state's Office of Emergency Services is directed to report on the status of NIMS implementation of the National Incident Management System by June 1, 2005.
