Contracting Competency Assessment

The Director of Defense Procurement, serving as Functional Leader for the Contracting Career Field, is working hand in hand with DoD's Senior Procurement Executives and the Defense Acquisition University to put in place a continuous competency-based management process for the DoD-wide Contracting Community. This process will:

  • Define the competencies required for the Contracting Community to deliver mission critical capabilities
  • Assess competencies resident in the Contracting Community and identify gaps for current and future requirements
  • Align/adjust personnel strategies to address competency gaps and provide opportunities for training and development

This page will provide the most current information regarding the competency-based management process as it develops and is executed across the Contracting Community.
