- NASA
Blood Drive: Come particpate in the NASA Blood Drive
on Thursday, August 24, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in MIC-6. Schedule
an appointment with your office coordinator. Open to civil servants
and contractors. Refreshments will be served. Donors should drink
plenty of non-caffeinated fluids the day before donation, and have
something substantial to eat within 4 hours before donating. Water
and juices will help against dehydration and will increase your blood
flow during the donation. Eating something substantial and healthy
before the donation dramatically reduces the risk of reactions. It
is also important to have a good night's sleep before donating, and
avoid strenuous physical activity prior to your appointment For additional
information on this event, contact Beverly Vaughn, 358-2600. For additional
tips on donating, visit http://www.givelife2.org/donor/tips.asp.
