Summary: This 2006 document lists and briefly describes comprehensive curriculum models that are approved by the Early Care and Education Administration in Washington D.C. for use by child development centers, which serve preschool children (aged 3–4 years). The curriculum models include: The Creative Curriculum, Scholastic’s Building Language for Literacy or Early Childhood Programs, High/Scope, Core Knowledge, Opening the World of Learning (OWL), Harcourt Pre-Kindergarten, Houghton Mifflin Pre-K, and Scholastic Early Childhood Workshop.
