Behavioral Scientist, Etiology and Surveillance Branch, Division of Violence Prevention, NCIPC

 

Jeffrey E. Hall, PhD, MSPH, is a behavioral scientist in the Etiology and Surveillance Branch of the Division of Violence Prevention at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC). He is a Youth Violence subject matter expert and chair of the Education and Training Subcommittee of the CDC Aging and Health Work Group. His research focuses on infant homicide, youth and young adult violence, self-neglect and elder maltreatment.

Dr. Hall began working at the CDC in 2005. He previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where his teaching duties involved courses including Social Gerontology (Aging in American Society), the Social Psychology of Aging, the Sociology of Aging, and Minority Aging.

Dr. Hall received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Science in Epidemiology, Master of Arts in General Sociology and his PhD in Medical Sociology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
