Agency established in 1979 to formulate and present recommendations to the Government for the formal adoption of Urdu as the official national language, and to promote its use in Pakistan. Includes projects of the Authority which include publication of dictionaries, thesauri, glossaries, training materials, textbooks, and a monthly journal "Akhbar-e- Urdu," training activities, surveys, collaborations, and, technical and other services.
