What types of programs does the Child Care Bureau fund?
  Question

What types of programs does the Child Care Bureau fund?

  Answer

The Child Care Bureau (CCB) administers the Child Care and Development Fund to states, territories, and Indian tribes to assist low-income families in accessing quality child care for children when the parents work or participate in education or training. CCB also awards discretionary grants to conduct child care research, demonstration, and evaluation projects, and to Ph.D. candidates to conduct dissertation research on issues related to child care. Discretionary grants are also awarded to Local Councils under the Early Learning Opportunities Act to enable them to increase, support, expand, and better coordinate early learning opportunities for young children and their families through local community organizations.
