Shelter House Policy
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Hillsdale Lake has a 30 x 35 foot group picnic Shelter available for reservations. Groups and organizations can reserve the shelter house by contacting the National Recreation Reservation Service at 1-877-444-6777 or through the internet at www.ReserveUSA.com. Daily rental: $50.00
The shelter house has the following amenities:
8 picnic tables, 4 sitting benches, 2 BBQ grills – smoker type, 2 serving counters and 4 electrical outlets. Access to restrooms, hiking trail, trashcans, water, and playground. Parking for approximately 30 vehicles.
POLICY:
- Full Day reservations only.
- Kegs and/or party balls are prohibited.
- The person making the reservation will be ultimately responsible for all damage to facilities.
- The person with the reservation will pick up restroom keys prior to the close of business on the day of the reservation. The person making the reservation will be responsible for locking restroom doors before leaving the property and dropping off the key in the secure key drop off box.
- All trash will be secured in trash cans. All loose trash will be collected during the reservation.
- The BBQ grills will be shut and the fire will be put out prior to leaving the property.
- The drinking fountain and frost-free hydrant are to be used for drinking and filling of containers only.
- No vehicles are allowed beyond the parking lot.
- Overflow parking will be located in the Kansas Department of Wildlife – Hillsdale State Park Parking lot directly across 255th Street.
- Maximum Capacity of the Shelter House (75 People).
- All Activity must be completed by 10 PM.
- All pets must be on a leash less than 6 feet long and all waste must be collected.
- All Federal Code of Regulations (Title 36) apply to shelter house reservations. (A copy will be provided)
