Boating
Harlan County Lake has several boat ramps accessible at most lake elevations. There is a day use fee from 01 April to 31 October for launching boats at Gremlin Cove, Hunter Cove or Methodist Cove parks. The boat launching fee is waived with a paid camping permit at any Corps of Engineers operated park. An annual day use pass may be purchased from the Corps of Engineers office or fee booths at Hunter Cove or Methodist Cove parks.
Boaters are cautioned to watch for submerged obstructions at all times. Changes in the lake level can add hazards to previously safe boating areas. Some dangerous areas are shown on the lake map. Boaters should also be alert to changing weather conditions and head for shore immediately if bad weather threatens.
Boat Ramps
Boat ramps are available for usage at Gremlin Cove, Hunter Cove, and Methodist Cove Parks operated by the Corps of Engineers. Other ramps around the lake include Patterson Harbor, Alma city park (high lake level use only), and Cedar Point park (low lake level use only).
