NAEP Website Tools and Applications
The NAEP website features a number of applications designed to give users quick and easy access to questions from previous assessments, performance comparisons, and NAEP assessment data for quick or complex analyses. Read about each tool below, and print Quick Reference Guides if you are a new user.

The NAEP Data Explorer (NDE) creates statistical tables and graphics displaying the results of NAEP assessments, as well as information about factors that may be related to student learning. See the Tutorial and the Quick Reference Guide (961K PDF) to learn how to use the Explorer.

Create tables that compare states/jurisdictions based on average scale scores for public school students within a single assessment year, or that compare the change in performance between two assessment years. Learn more in the Quick Reference Guide (347K PDF).

Use State Profiles to explore key data about each state's student and school population, as well its NAEP testing history and results. The profiles provide easy access to all NAEP data for participating states and links to the most recent state report cards for all available subjects.
