Food Stamp Nutrition
Education Guiding Principles
The FSNE Guiding Principles (formerly the FSNE Framework) provide the
big picture and future direction for FSNE. The Guiding Principles is a
component of our efforts to strengthen nutrition education in the Food
Stamp Program (FSP). Only one principle is based on statutory requirements
(FSNE is intended for food stamp participants and individuals eligible for
the FSP) and the remaining five principles characterize the FNS's vision
of quality nutrition education. The FSNE State Nutrition Education Plan
Guidance will continue to provide the operational and policy directives to
apply these Guiding Principles.
