May 16 Public Information Meeting on Corps of Engineers Operation of Libby Dam

A public information meeting May 16 in Libby will focus on the Army Corps of Engineers’ current operations of Libby Dam, low water flows, the Biological Opinions of the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service, the Corps’ groundwater and levee study, and delay of a spill test until next year. The Ponderosa Room at Libby City Hall is scheduled for the meeting, slated for 6:30 – 10 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to comment in general session or address specific concerns in breakout groups. Residents may read more about Libby Dam online at the Corps web site at www.nws.usace.army.mil. Scheduled to begin there about May 9 is a series of questions and answers relating to the meeting topics.
