Citizens and community organizations can request ceremonial support such as a color guard or marching units from the Marine Corps for participation in your community event. The color guard consists of a four-person detail that posts and retires the National Ensign and Marine Corps flag and rendering to it the proper customs and courtesies. This honored tradition adds dignity to any military-related activity while showing respect to our Nation and those who have served it. |
Your organization can request support from the Marine Corps for participation in your public event with ground equipment. Requests can include armored vehicles (M1A1, LAV, AAV), Humvees, transport vehicles (7-Ton truck), construction vehicles/ equipment, tanks, infantry weapon displays, or other equipment used by the Marine Corps. The Marine Corps gladly participates in public events to allow the public to come in direct contact with equipment used by Marines fighting wars around the world.

The United States Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment is comprised of three performing ceremonial units from Marine Barracks Washington, D.C.: the Marine Corps Color Guard, the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, and the Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps.
