Fisheries information networks (FINs) are regional co-operative state-federal programs to design, implement and conduct marine fisheries statistics data collection programs and to integrate those data into a single data management system that will meet the needs of fishery managers, scientist, and fishermen.

 

Western Pacific Fisheries Information Network (WPFIN)

The Western Pacific Fisheries Information Network (WPacFIN) program provides access to best available fisheries data from the Western Pacific Region to support fisheries management in that region.


Alaska Fisheries Information Network (AKFIN) Disclaimer Icon

The Alaska Fisheries Information Network (AKFIN) supports the data needs of fisheries analysts and economists, as well as other entities involved in the commercial fishing industry. We consolidate data about commercial fisheries and are responsible for managing and dispensing the data to analysts and economists upon request.


Recreational Fisheries (RecFIN) Disclaimer Icon

Established in 1992, the Recreational Fishery Information Network is designed to integrate state and federal marine recreational fishery sampling efforts into a single database to provide important biological, social, and economic data for Pacific coast recreational fishery biologists, managers and anglers.


Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) Disclaimer Icon

The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission was formed by the 15 Atlantic coast states in 1942 in recognition that fish do not adhere to political boundaries. The Commission serves as a deliberative body, coordinating the conservation and management of the states shared near shore fishery resources - marine, shell, and anadromous - for sustainable use.


Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission (GSMFC) Disclaimer Icon

The Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission (GSMFC) is an organization of the five states (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida), whose coastal waters are the Gulf of Mexico. This compact, authorized under Public Law 81-66, was signed by the representatives of the Governors of the five Gulf States on July 16, 1949, at Mobile, Alabama. It has as its principal objective the conservation, development, and full utilization of the fishery resources of the Gulf of Mexico, to provide food, employment, income, and recreation to the people of these United States.
