EAD Elements: <subtitle> Subtitle

Description:

A secondary or subsidiary name of an encoded finding aid that is subordinate to the main name encoded in <titleproper>. The <subtitle> element is available only within <titlepage> and <titlestmt> to capture bibliographic aspects of the finding aid. Subtitles of monographs, serials, paintings, and other such works mentioned in the finding aid are not separately encoded, but they may be listed as part of the <title> element.

May contain:

#PCDATA, abbr, date, emph, expan, extptr, lb, num, ptr

May occur within:

titlepage, titlestmt

Attributes:
