EAD Elements: <accessrestrict> Restrictions on Access

Description:

An <admininfo> subelement for information about conditions that affect the availability of the materials being described. May indicate the need for an appointment or the nature of restrictions imposed by the donor, legal statute, repository, or other agency. May also indicate the lack of restrictions.

Do not confuse with Restrictions on Use <userestrict>, which designates information about limitations on the use of the described materials after access has been granted.

The element is comparable to ISAD(G) data elements 3.4.2 and 3.4.3, and MARC field 506.
