History of Granger Lake

CONSTRUCTION
Construction began in October of 1972, with the project being placed in operation on January 21, 1980.

AUTHORITY
Congressional Authority of the construction of Laneport Lake (Granger Lake) was originally contained in the Flood Control Act approved 3 September 1954.

FLOOD HISTORY
Maximum level reached 530.11 on 05-MAR-1992
Minimum level reached 498.54 on 06-OCT-1984

PURPOSE
The purpose of the dam was for flood damage reduction, water conservation, fish and wildlife habitat, and general recreation.
