p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Aug. 26. He'll address the agency regarding
the day's release of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board's
findings.
Employees
wishing to view and participate in this update may do so from the
Bldg. 3 Goett Auditorium.
Columbia
Accident Investigation Board Will Release Final Report on August
26, 2003
ARLINGTON,
VA - The Columbia Accident Investigation Board will hold a press
briefing to discuss its final report on the cause of the February
1, 2003 Space Shuttle accident on Tuesday, August 26, 2003
at 11 a.m. EDT at the National Transportation Safety Board boardroom
at 429 L'Enfant Plaza in Washington, D.C.
Board
Chairman retired Admiral Harold W. "Hal" Gehman Jr. and
other board members will review the contents of the report and will
answer questions from the press. The briefing is open to credentialed
media only.
The
report also will be posted to the CAIB website, www.caib.us, at
10 a.m. that morning. The 11 a.m. press briefing will be webcast
from the same website.

Outage 8/23/03
The
Goddard Space Flight Center (list site here) will be unavailable
on Saturday, August 23rd 2003, from 9:00 am through 4:00 pm.
ODIN will continue to upgrade the network infrastructure of Building
18 at Goddard. During this time frame there will be intermittent
network connectivity inside and outside of the building, as Engineer's
install network switches.

Annual Fall Crafts Fair -- Register Today!
GEWA's Fall
Crafts Fair will be held on October 15 from 10 a.m. til 2 p.m.
in the Bldg. 8 Auditorium. Registration is $15 per space (10'x10'
area with one 3'x5' table + 2 chairs) and is open to all GSFC government
and contractor employees, retirees, family members and friends.
Items must be handmade. Registration forms and checks are due by
COB October 3. Contact Catherine Simkins (csimkins@pop400.gsfc.nasa.gov)
for an electronic copy of the registration form.

for Papers - 6th MAPLD International Conference Abstracts
are being accepted for the 6th annual Military and Aerospace Programmable Logic
Devices (MAPLD) International Conference. Programmable devices, technologies and
related aspects of digital engineering will comprise the major emphasis of this
conference. This
