Business Enterprise Integration Governance

Governance is the responsibility for oversight and authoritative direction in ensuring the goals and objectives of an organization are met. In the I&E BEI Community, our governance boards perform the dual roles of directing business transformation and ensuring that our IT investments support the warfighter. Our governance activities are directed by a Domain Governance Board (DGB) and an Investment Review Board (IRB), both comprised of senior leaders primarily from the facilities management and engineering communities across DoD. The DGB integrates the management of business operations of real property and environment, safety, and occupational health (ESOH) and has implemented a joint, collaborative approach for transforming the way these business areas are conducted across the DoD I&E Community. The IRB reviews all information technology activities with lifetime modernization investments projected in excess of $1,000,000, which could include systems, services, initiatives, and technology upgrades, for certification.
